For those of you planning ahead...School will be starting in the fall at 7:30am and doors will open at 7:00am. Students will be dismissed to their classrooms at 7:20am from the gym or cafeteria if they arrive before 7:20am.

Meals for spring break week....... We will be sending home a bag with your child on Friday, March 26 with breakfasts and lunches for 2-3 days. If you would like to request a 5 Day Box in addition, you need to call the school by Monday, March 22 to place that order. The 5 Day Box pick-up will be on Thursday, March 25 between 11:00am and 12:30pm.
Kindergarten Registration is Tuesday, March 23rd and Thursday, March 25th. Please call the school (304-757-6711) to schedule an appointment and to make arrangements to pick up the registration packet. Due to Covid restrictions, this year will be a drive-through type of registration. You will bring your completed packet back on the registration day and it will be checked for completion while you wait in your car. Feel free to share this information with family or friends that have a child turning 5 years old by July 1, 2021.

Change in Schedule........ Friday, February 26, 2021 will be a Faculty Senate Day rescheduled from the original date of February 19, 2021. To enable our schools to hold the February Faculty Senate meeting, students will be dismissed two hours early. WTES will dismiss at 12:25pm.

Putnam County Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Monday, February 22. Several bus routes will not run tomorrow. The route listing will be located on the PCS website and social media outlets. Students will receive an excused absence if their bus does not run tomorrow. Please note: Students unable to attend school and/or complete assignments the same day due to a bus not running, lack of internet, power, or unforeseen circumstances, will be provided extended time to submit assignments once the internet or power is restored or circumstances warrant additional family support and resources.
Putnam County Schools will be operating on an "On-Site Remote Day" tomorrow, Monday, February 15. This simply means that students will not report to school but will begin remote instruction 2 hours late.
PCS Messages:: Due to current severe weather conditions and extensive power outages in various parts of the county, Putnam County Schools will now be placed on a Full Closure with all schools being closed. There will be no remote instruction and school-based staff will not report. Again, all schools will be closed, no remote instruction and no school-based staff reporting.
PCS Messages:: Putnam County Schools will be operating on an "On-Site Remote Day" tomorrow, Friday, February 12. This simply means that students will not report to school but will begin remote instruction 2 hours late. As a reminder, several areas of Putnam County may still be without power and some students and some teachers may not have access to the internet. PCS Messages:: All Putnam County Schools will be operating on a two-hour delay for Thursday, February 11, 2021. If a school closure is needed, an announcement will be made around 7:30 am.
In the event of inclement weather, PCS anticipates announcing remote learning days instead of school cancellations for the remainder of this school year. Please be advised that if a remote learning day is announced, students will be expected to attend live reading and math lessons on Schoology and participate in remote learning. If this situation occurs, please check Schoology for teacher schedules, times for live lessons, and further announcements.
School Cancellation and Delay Protocols as a Result of Inclement Weather Should there be inclement weather that would result in a school cancellation or delay, ONE of the following protocols will be utilized. Two-Hour Delay Students WILL report on a 2-hour delayed schedule. WTES will open 2 hours later than the normal hours of operation. Doors will open at 9:20 AM/The tardy bell will ring at 10:10 AM Each bus route will be delayed by 2 hours using the 2020-2021 bus schedules. (Example: If your student is picked up at 7:00 AM this year, they will be picked up at 9:00 AM when a two-hour delay is called. Families should review their child’s Schoology account for a schedule and further instructions. On-Site Remote Instruction Students will NOT report to WTES. This includes those students who previously reported when PCS was in remote status. Buses will NOT operate for any students. Remote instruction WILL begin 2 hours later than normal instructional time. (10:10 AM- Following a modified schedule) Curbside meal service will be offered at WTES from 11:00-12:30. Buses will be available to deliver meals, in necessary, when requested by families. Please make meal requests by calling the school before 9:00 AM- meals are free for all PCS students until the end of the 2020-2021 school year. Families should review their child’s Schoology account for a schedule and further instructions. Off-Site Remote Instruction Students will NOT report to WTES. Remote instruction WILL begin 2 hours later than normal instruction time (10:10 AM- Following a modified schedule). No curbside meals will be offered at WTES. Pre-K registration for 2021-2022 opens January 19. To register, parents will need to go to www.putnamschools.com, menu, parents, Pre-K and click the link for registration.
Anyone wanting to request a 7 day meal box for the Christmas Break, please call the school no later than 9:00am Monday 12/21/20 to make the request. Boxes will be ready for pick up from 11:00am to 12:30pm on Tuesday 12/22/20.
FREE MEALS AVAILABLE FOR ALL PCS STUDENTS: This meal service is free of charge and available for ALL students, whether or not enrolled in the meal benefit program. Therefore, we encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity. Daily pick-up times for meals are from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm at each school. Putnam County Schools will continue to operate remotely Monday, December 7, 2020, through Friday, December 11, 2020. PCS families who opted for virtual learning will continue as planned.
