West Virginia Video Report Support Guidence We are pleased to inform you that students who took the West Virginia General Summative Assessment or SAT School Day in spring 2021 will receive an email at their K12 student email account on December 10, 2021, containing a link to an individual student video score report. Parents with emails on file with the school will also receive the link to the video score report. Although students received their printed score reports earlier this school year, the West Virginia Department of Education is piloting exciting new video score reports designed to be more engaging for students and their parents or guardians. Please have your student check his or her email account for the link, and parents and guardians should also check to see if it has been received. Simply copy and paste the link into your web browser and enter the student's date of birth to access the video score report customized specifically for the student. Also, be sure to check out the links to resources in the video report. If you have any difficulty accessing the report, please contact the school for assistance.

Since the Program started in 2013, Backpack Buddy has shipped over 15,000 boxes of nutritional, personal care, informative, and educational items to Putnam County Students. Families may now sign-up for the free Summer 2021 Backpack Buddy Meal Box Program. Summer 'Backpack' Meal Boxes will be mailed to homes in unmarked boxes at various times throughout the summer. Deliveries will start in the middle of June and will continue until the start of the new school year. Interested applicants should complete the application form linked below for the Putnam Area Backpack Buddy. The deadline for application completion is April 26th. Join the fun and prepare for a camping adventure! Family Literacy Night and Book Festival Come and join the fun as the lawn of Poca Elementary becomes Camp Read S'more. Poca Elementary Students and Families please stop by the campout on TONIGHT, April 13, 2021 (5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.) and pick up your supplies for you to experience your campout at home! At home activities: * Paddle your way to your camp and design yoru campsite on your board. * Flashlight read aloud with your camping themed book. * Use your STEM skills to create a yummy treat. * Write a campfire story in your journal.

March 16th CURBSIDE ONLY If you have a child who will be 5 years of age BEFORE July 1st, please stop by PES to pick-up a registration packet. We will schedule an appointment for CURBSIDE packet check and to make copies of the necessary documents (birth certificate, 2 proofs of residency, immunization records, etc.) for March 16th. If you have questions, please call the school at 304-755-7561. YOU MUST REGISTER AT YOUR HOME SCHOOL. You may not register in a school as Out-of-Zone. If you wish to complete an Out-of-Zone application for Poca Elementary, you may stop by the school to get an application; however, you MUST register at your HOME SCHOOL.

PES: Putnam Distance/WVVS Families: There is a safety default that requires students to log in to the network about once every 6 months to activate windows. Should you have a problem, you will need to come to ANY Putnam County School and access the network using the school WIFI or Kids Connect. This can be accomplished without coming into the building. Students may be asked to "restart" once they are connected.

Putnam county Schools will be dismissing two-hours early this Friday, February 12, 2021, for PCS employees to recieve their final round of vaccinations. PCS was able to work with the pharmacy providing the vaccines to schedule the clinic at Hurricane High School Friday afternoon.

🚨IMPORTANT PCS UPDATE🚨 ***PCS Remote Learning – Friday, January 29, 2021*** All Putnam County Schools will operate remotely on Friday, January 29, 2021 as this date has been scheduled by the West Virginia Interagency Taskforce and those providing the vaccine on-site for Putnam County School employees to receive their second COVID-19 vaccination. Although this may result in an inconvenience for families, it is reassuring to know that employees, who work with students directly, are receiving the second COVID-19 vaccination. Free school meals will continue to be provided for all PCS students. Friday pick-up times for meals are from 11:00 am-12:30 pm at each school. Families will pick-up meals at their students’ home school location, curbside while remaining in the vehicle. If transportation is a problem, families may contact their home school to request meal delivery assistance.
